Hello, and welcome to this site!! This site is dedicated to the Construction of Solid Body and Archtop (Electric) Guitars, using CAD software for the Design, CAM software for the Machining, and CNC (Computer Numerical Control) routers for the fabrication of these instruments. The site strives to provide information about the entire process, from the Design Phase, to the Machining/Completion Phase.

What is Available here:

  • A set of Video Tutorials that focus on the Design and Machining of Guitars (for purchase)
  • Details about Using a CNC Router (and Ultimately how to build one)
  • Models of various instruments and parts (Some are included on the Tutorial disks)
  • Videos that show some of the aspects being described
  • Links to various other resources and information
  • Photo Galleries showcasing some of this work

Most of the work here, is dedicated to using Solidworks to first design a guitar, and then Mastercam to create machining instructions (NC code). This code is used to drive a CNC router, controlled by MACH3 software. You can hit the links and look around this site for more information on these and other software packages. I also use Modo to render my models. The methods described here however, can be used with different software packages if desired.

Please feel free to browse, look at the Galleries, proceed to the Video Pages, and then to the FAQ section. I hope that you will find your stay here informative, and please, should you have any questions or commends, feel free to drop me a note.

Enjoy your stay!
